Our mission is to champion educators and increase the impact of their work
The Digital Museum of Learning is an initiative of the Jacobs Foundation. Our online exhibitions and teaching resources are designed to help children thrive. Be inspired as you explore the history and future of learning!
A digital museum of learning for educators and children
The Digital Museum of Learning is a global online museum for children and educators. We bring artifacts from around the world to life on your screen.
Ready to explore new worlds and unlock the secrets of the past? The Digital Museum is designed to captivate and inspire learners of all ages. We partner with museums globally to digitize their most treasured artworks and artifacts and bring them to life in interactive stories.
Our online exhibitions are carefully curated collections of stories. They will take you on a journey to explore exciting themes in education.
The interactive stories are designed to spark curiosity in children ages 7 to 12:
Explore: Interactive content to explore the wonders of history, art and education
Explain: Fun and insightful bite-sized information for all ages to enjoy
Engage: Playful quizzes to test your knowledge and understanding
We believe learning should be a personalized experience: In the Teacher Zone, teachers can create learning journeys tailored to their classes. Each story comes with teaching resources, including worksheets and links to partner resources to make learning even more engaging.
Our team works with the Jacobs Foundation in Zurich, Switzerland. We regularly host local events at the Johann Jacobs Museum for our local community.
Our Vision
Our vision is to inspire and empower educators so they can help children thrive. Don't miss out on the action! Become part of our collective of museums, educators, and researchers. Together we can spark and nurture children’s innate curiosity and joy in learning.
We are thrilled to announce the launch of our first exhibition on environmental education in June 2023, with more stories and languages to come. Join us on this journey to make the history and future of learning accessible for education! Whether you would like to become a partner, contribute an artifact, or share a teaching resource – we look forward to hearing from you!
